Turns out there is a lot of contextual gold that has been lost as the modern western Church has warped this verse out of context and into a false theology.

Could God not really bear the sight of Jesus becoming sin? Was it God imposing His wrath on Jesus so you could be forgiven? What does this say about us when we sin? If He turned His back on Jesus what do you think He will do to us?
