Why is this a harmful theology? Maybe we believe it because it's what we were indoctrinated to believe?

What is it producing in your life? Why is the gospel followed by the threat of eternal torment if you don't accept it? Where did Jesus ever say, "If you don't accept what I did for you you're going to hell? Or is it just a place some Christians want the people to go they don't like or disapprove of?

Do you have a difficult time reconciling a God of love and a God of punishment? These series of messages is not a debate if hell exist or not, but unveiling God in a more healthy light.

Some people are literally afraid/fearful of God. Always looking over your shoulders. Walking on egg shells. I would be afraid of that God too, especially if I knew he prepared a place called hell for me.

Hell comes with a lot of fear tactics. Fear is a strong motivator. Many evangelicals won't tell you but it's a great bait to keep you giving, going to church, follow the rules, control, etc.
